5 Guantanamo Detainees Given Copies Of Senator Feinstein’s ‘Torture Report’

More fallout from the recent release of the Senate ‘Torture’ Report. Andrew Breitbart, writing on the website, NoMoreCocktails.com (Dec. 16) says that “five defendants in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba (GTMO) have been given copies of Senator Feinstein’s CIA ‘Torture Report,’ on Enhanced Interrogation Techniques (EITs) — to review in their cells.” U.S. Army Brigadier General Mark Martins, the Chief Prosecutor for 9/11 Mastermind Khalid Shaikh Mohammad — among others — acknowledged that “last week’s release of the torture report gives the defense the advantage of seeing their long-running complaints about interrogations at CIA detention sites officially documented.” General Martins said “it increases the likelihood that more of the processes [in the case] will be open to the public; and, assures the accused will be able to see and consult with defense counsel about certain information not previously available to them.”

“Some, if not all of the detainees, will probably try and use EITs as a reason for leniency to spare their lives in a death penalty case, hoping to win sympathy from a military jury,” Mr. Breitbart wrote. he added, “that campaign has already begun with James Connell, the lead attorney for the defendant Dammar Baluchi, who the CIA claims gave useful information — after being subjected to torture [EITs].” V/R, RCP
