Did An American Jihadist Lead Last Sunday’s Islamic State/Libyan Beach Beheadings Of 21 Egyptian Coptic Christians?
According to the February 18, 2015 edition of London’s TheDailyMailOnline, “Intelligence chiefs are investigating claims that the Islamic State jihadi that led the execution of 21 Egyptian Coptic Christians on a Libyan beach this past Sunday — spoke English with a U.S. accent. Brandishing a knife, the jihadist declares: “All crusaders…the sea you have hidden Sheikh Osama bin Laden’s body in, we swear to Allah — we will mix it with your blood.” The 21 Coptic Christian men are then forced to lie face-down…before they are beheaded simultaneously.”
TheDailyMailOnline adds that “U.S. officials are understood to be analyzing the militant’s facial features; and, speech patterns, as has bee done in the hunt for British executioner Jihad John, who has appeared in a number of Islamic State beheading videos in Syria.”
Professor Erik Thomas, a linguistics expert at North Carolina State University, believes the jihadist in the Libyan execution video of the 21 Egyptian Coptic Christians, “sounds like an American, with some Arabic influence, based on some pronunciations.” the DailyMailOnline reports “Another U.S. specialist, who asked not to be named, told ABC News, “that he [the jihadist] may be a native Arabic speaker, who learned English by spending a ‘significant’amount of time in America.”
Unfortunately, it is only a matter of time, and when, not whether or not we will see an American Jihadist competing with British jihadi Jihad John, as to who is the more brutal and despicable of the two. V/R, RCP
